Conclusion

This trip was one of the best, met many places, we learned things we did not before, and we had fun with our classmates, we made more friends among us, and we shared many things. Honestly this trip exceeded our expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed as it is our last school trip. I hope you have enjoyed our blog, we did a lot of dedication!!

Back to our city!!

We woke up early and went down to the hotel room with our bags while we were having breakfast. We went to visit some places before returning to Santiago, met Sarmiento's house, and had lunch in a very nice boat. After the tour we went to the bus, ready for a long journey. We stopped at a nice service station where we could have dinner and watch the match for Argentina (soccer), then returned the group and watched a movie to fall asleep and wake up in our city.

The last day in Buenos Aires

After we had to go, we made the last visits of the trip.

The first was puerto madero

PuertoMadero, also known within the urban planning community as the Puerto Madero Waterfront, is a district of the Argentine capital at Buenos Aires CBD, occupying a significant portion of the Río de la Plata riverbank and representing the latest architectural trends in the city of Buenos Aires.

Inside this place, we havePuente de la Mujer  is a rotating footbridge for Dock 3 of the Puerto Madero commercial district of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is of the Cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge type and is also a swing bridge, but somewhat unusual in its asymmetrical arrangement. It has a single mast with cables suspending a portion of the bridge which rotates 90 degrees in order to allow water traffic to pass. When it swings to allow watercraft passage, the far end comes to a resting point on a stabilizing pylon.

ARA Presidente Sarmiento is a museum ship. She is considered to be the last intact cruising training ship from the 1890s.
The ship was originally built for the Argentine naval academy. The ship was retired as a seagoing vessel in 1938, but continued to serve as a stationary training ship until 1961. She is now maintained in her original 1898 appearance as a museum ship near the center of Buenos Aires. This ship was named for Domingo Faustino Sarmiento.

Tigre

Then we visited Tigre that it is beautiful.Tigre is a town in the Buenos Aires Province. Tigre lies on the Paraná Delta and is an important tourist and weekend attraction, easily reached by bus and train services, including the scenic Tren de la Costa. It is the principal town of the Tigre Partido.

The House Museum Sarmiento is in the town of Tigre, in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina
The house is a small wooden building with a tile roof. According to historians such as María del Carmen Magaz and María Beatriz Arévalo,. Sarmiento died in 1895 and  the house works as a museum and library. According to the Municipality of Tigre, which was in charge of building the the glass structure around it in order to protect it from the inclemencies of the weather and the passing of time.

The fourth day in Buenos Aires

We got up early and went down to breakfast at the hotel restaurant. At eight in the morning we went by bus to Temaikèn and there we could see the different animals, we also saw a movie at 360 degrees, it seemed so real!!Later, around noon we went to lunch at a nearby restaurant and hours later we headed Tecnopolis, the day was cloudy and rainy, so Tecnopolis to leave the group headed out soaked, went to the hotel to have a shower and dress for dinner. After dinner we returned to the hotel and went to sleep.

 

Temaikèn

Temaikèn  is a zoo in Belén de Escobar, vicinity of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the only AZA accredited zoo in that country. The name is a portmanteau of tem (earth) and aiken (life) in the language of the native Tehuelche people.

Covering 178 acres, Temaikèn specializes in native Argentine wildlife and exotic and threatened species. In addition to the zoo the Temaikèn Foundation owns the Osununu wildlife conservation area. It also has programs to manage and protect the Parana Pine ecosystem and butterflies and orchids within the national wildlife conservation system.

Temaikèn Biopark is a popular tourist destination.

Tecnopolis a science, technology, industry and art mega exhibition, based in Argentina and the largest in Latin America^. Located in Villa Martelli, in the Vicente Lopez division, Tecnopolis was inaugurated on July 14, 2011, by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

The third day in Buenos Aires

La Plata

La Plata is the capital city of the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Has a population of 574,369 and its metropolitan area has 694,253 inhabitants. The city itself has a population of 186,524.

La Plata was planned and developed to serve as the provincial capital after the city of Buenos Aires was federalized in 1880, and it was officially founded by Governor Dardo Rocha on 19 November 1882. La Plata was renamed Eva Perón City (Ciudad Eva Perón) between 1952 and 1955.


The Cathedral of La Plata

The Cathedral of La Plata, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, is the largest Roman Catholic sanctuary in the city of La Plata in Argentina, and one of the largest in Latin America. This Neogothic edifice is located in the geographical center of the city, facing the central square, Plaza Moreno, and the City Hall.

Inspired by the European cathedrals of Amiens and Cologne, its plans were drawn by architect Ernesto Meyer under the direction of city planner Pedro Benoit.

The La Plata Museum

The La Plata Museum is a natural history museum in La Plata, Argentina. It is part of the Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Museo of the UNLP .

The building, 135 meters long, today houses 3 million fossils and relics an amphitheatre, opened in 1992, and a 58,000-volume library, serving over 400 university researchers. Around 400,000 visitors pass through its doors yearly, including a thousand visiting researchers.

Riachuelo

 The Riachuelo is a 64-kilometre stream in Argentina that originates in the Buenos Aires Province and defines the southern boundary of the Buenos Aires federal district. It empties into the Río de la Plata between Tandanor and Dock Sud. The La Boca neighbourhood and the Boca Juniors football club are located near the Riachuelo's mouth. The river's course has been canalized and channelized in places, especially along its lower course. Bridge on Riachuelo-Matanza river From its source down to La Noria Bridge on Avenida General Paz, the river is usually referred to as Río La Matanza, and from that point onwards as Riachuelo. he Matanza receives large amounts of industrial waste from the numerous factories along the river, especially tanneries, which makes the Matanza/Riachuelo a polluted river. Among the most dangerous contaminants are heavy metals and waste water from the basin's saturated layers.

River Plate Stadium

River Plate Stadium is a stadium in the Belgrano, Buenos Aires district of Buenos Aires, Argentina at the intersection of Figueroa Alcorta and Udaondo. It is home to the Club Atlético River Plate soccer team in Argentina and is named after former club president Antonio Vespucio Liberti. The stadium is sometimes referred to as Estadio Monumental de Núñez, which is perhaps why persons incorrectly believe that it is located in the district of Nuñez. However, the stadium is more commonly referred to as El Monumental and it is considered to be the national stadium of Argentina

La Boca

La Boca is a neighborhood, or barrio of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. It retains a strong European flavour, with many of its early settlers being from theItalian city of Genoa. In fact the name has a strong assonance with the Genoese neighborhood of Boccadasse, and some people believe, that the Buenos Aires barrio was indeed named after it. The conventional explanation is that the neighborhood sits at the mouth of the Riachuelo.

It is known among sports fans for La Bombonera the home of Boca Juniors, one of the world's best known football clubs. La Boca is a popular destination fortourists visiting Argentina, with its colourful houses and pedestrian street, the Caminito, where tango artists perform and tango-related memorabilia is sold. Other attractions include the La Ribera theatre, many tango clubs and Italian taverns.
As one of Buenos Aires's 48 barrios, La Boca is located in the city's south-east near its old port. The barrio of Barracas is to the west; San Telmo and Puerto Madero are to the north. In La Boca many of the residents are of mixed European descent. Mainly Italian, Spanish, German, French, Arab and Basque.

Places visited in Rosario

Rosario is the largest city in the province of Santa Fe, in central Argentina. It is located 300 km (185 mi) northwest of Buenos Aires, on the western shore of the Parana River


National Flag Memorial

The National Flag Memorial in Rosario, Argentina, is a monumental complex built near the banks of the Paraná River. It was inaugurated on June 20, 1957, the anniversary of the death of Manuel Belgrano, creator of the Argentine flag.
The Memorial  has three parts: the Tower or mast, which commemorates the Revolution of May 1810 and houses Manuel Belgrano's crypt in its base; the Civic Courtyard, which symbolizes the effort of the organization of the state, and the Triumphal Propylaeum, representing the Nation as organized after the 1853 Constitution. Under the Propylaeum there is the Honour Room for the Flags of America, where the flags of all American nations are displayed.

Cathedral Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary

The Cathedral Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary is a minor basilica and cathedral dedicated to the local Virgin of the Rosary, in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. It is the motherchurch of the Archdiocese of Rosario.
The basilica is located on the oldest part of the city, at the corner of Buenos Aires St. and Córdoba St., besides the Palacio de los Leones (that is, the municipal building), across the pedestrian path called Pasaje Juramento ("Oath Passage") that leads into the National Flag Memorial. The basilica faces Plaza 25 de Mayo (May 25th Square), also bordered by the Central Post Office.

Travel Diary

 

 It was half past eight in the evening and we were all on the terminal ready to leave, we were called one by one and we were getting on the bus, which was decorated by the coordinators, Tiri and Angel, who went with the teachers  Alicia, Beatriz, Pablo and Ruben with us, thanks to them our trip was wonderful. 

We had a dinner on Pinto, a place of our city, at 00.00, in a very picturesque bar. After dinner we return to the bus because we were very tired, so we slept until eight o'clock the next day, we arrived in the city of Rosario, toured the city, met the Flag Monument  and other important things and then we left for our final destination, Buenos Aires, we arrived at two o'clock in the afternoon approximately, and had lunch at a restaurant in Nuñez, we went to a city tour of the city, knowing the Monumental, the neighbourhood of La Boca, which is very attractive due to the number of colours, we also visited the Riachuelo, which unfortunately is very polluted. Finally we went to the hotel, which was very nice and comfortable, we make the check in, and we went to a local restaurant to had dinner, then we went to bed as we were very tired and we had to get up early the next day

A dias de realizar uno de los mejores viajes juntos, y el ultimo! Ansiosos esperando que pasen las horas para llegar a Buenos Aires. No sólo que compartiremos momentos juntos y tendremos anécdotas para contar sino que tambien aprenderemos mucho, sobre todo historia Argentina, ya que visitaremos el Congreso, la Casa Rosada, y muchos otros lugares, algunos interesantes otros un poco aburridos, pero en fin todos juntos y aprendiendo cada dia un poco más.
No es el primer viaje que realizamos con el colegio, tenemos otras experiencias y recuerdos algunos muy buenos otros no tanto, esperamos que el viaje sea tan bueno o mejor que el viaje a mendoza, que sin duda hasta ahora, fue el mejor.

A day to make one of the best trips together, and the last! Anxious for the hours to pass and finally get to Buenos Aires. Not only will share time together and have stories to tell, also learn a lot especially Argentina history as we visit the Congress, the Pink House, and many other places, some of them interestings, others a bit boring but in the end all together and learning each day a little more.
 It isn`t the first trip we made with the school, we have other experiences and remembers some good some not so, we hope that the journey is as good or better than the trip to Mendoza, which certainly so far, was the best.
